Welcome to the 51st Annual New York International Numismatic Convention

Rev. 3/25/2022 (UPDATE ONGOING)

The 51st Annual NYINC - Our Second Year at Our New Home, the New York Barclay Hotel

Because of the ongoing uncertainties related to the Covid-19 pandemic, the NYINC relocated for our 50th Annual Convention to a new site, the InterContinental New York Barclay, located at 111 East 48th Street, between Park and Lexington Avenues. The Barclay is one block South of our site from 2002-2017, the Waldorf Astoria and is two blocks South of the #6 subway stop at 51st Street and Lexington Avenue.

In Addition, the #'s 4, 5, 6, 7 and S lines have stops at Grand Central Station, located at 42nd Street and Park Avenue. The Grand Concourse at Grand Central is directly accessible to the Barclay via the "Northeast Passage", an indoor connection to 48th Street ending roughly one half block from the 48th Street entrance to the Barclay. The entrance to the "Northeast Passage" is located next to track 23 in Grand Central Station. It is open Mondy-Friday from 6:30AM to 9:30PM, closed on Saturday and Sunday.

Our auction viewing schedule starts on Friday, January 6 and runs through Sunday, January 15. Auction sessions will be held Monday, January 8 through Sunday, January 15. Our world and ancient specialty bourse areawill run from Thursday, January 12 through Sunday, January 15.

Please note that the NYINC is under contract with the Barclay to be our site for the next five years:

  • January 6-15, 2023
  • January 5-14, 2024
  • January 10-19, 2025
  • January 9-18, 2026
  • January 8-17, 2027

The first date cited above will be Friday opening of auction lot viewing. A full week of auction sessions presented by nine different auction companies will begin on the immediately following Sunday and Monday. The roughly 100 dealer foreign and ancient specialty bourse area will operate on the last four dates, Thursday to Sunday each year noted above.

A full Schedule of Events as well as contact information for our multiple official auction companies can be accessed below.

A Word About Covid Public Health Precautions and Mandates in Effect for the 51st Annual NYINC

Regulations and mandates promulgated by the New York City government required all participants in the now concluded 2022 NYINC to present positive written or electronic documentation of having undergone Covid vaccination. There were no exceptions to or exemptions from this requirement, which applied to NYINC booth holders, staff members and  all visitors. Presentation of a negative Covid test was not a substitute for evidence of actual vaccination. In addition, for our just concluded 50th Annual NYINC the Barclay Hotel did require mask wearing at all times in any of their public spaces, except when actively engaged in eating or drinking. Please revisit this website periodically for current public health precaution information that may be in effect for our January 6-15, 2023 51st Annual New York International Numismatic Convention.

About Our Event - How to Find Us

The New York International Numismatic Convention is the United States’ largest and most prestigious numismatic event targeting the needs of the foreign and ancient numismatic communities.  The 51st Annual NYINC will be held at the InterContinental  New York Barclay hotel, located 111 East 48 Street, New York, NY  10017, at Lexington Avenue.  The Barclay is one block south of our site from 2002-2017, the Waldorf-Astoria.

The NYINC will feature a bourse area consisting of roughly 100 of the leading specialists in world and ancient numismatists and will be held in the Empire and Grand Ballrooms as well as the immediately contiguous Gallery area of the Barclay. The seven days of auction sessions will be held in the Barclay Salon, located in the lobby level. Auction lot viewing will be held in meeting rooms located on the same second floor level of the Barclay as the bourse area.  Numismatic organization meetings and educational seminars will be held on the second floor of the Barclay in the Morgan Suite and the Astor Suite I.

Please consult the Schedule of Events for the specific session times scheduled by our multiple official auction companies. Our multiple auction sessions are cataloged and conducted by a number of the leading numismatic houses in the world, including: Heritage; Spink USA; Classical Numismatic Group, as well as The New York Sale, a joint venture of M&M Numismatics, Sovereign Rarities, Dmitry Markov and Ira and Larry Goldberg. In addition, Stack’s-Bowers will conduct official auction sessions to cap our seven days of official auction presentations. In all, eight different auction houses, either singly or in collaborative efforts, will be contributing their expertise and numismatic drawing power to our auction presentations in 2023.

Auction sessions will take place over a span of seven consecutive days, beginning on Monday, January 9 and concluding on Sunday, January 15. No other numismatic convention can equal the incomparable scope and breadth of the NYINC auctions, presentations that quite literally attract dealers and collectors from throughout the world, making New York City truly the numismatic capital of the earth during our event.

Auction lot viewing will open on Friday, January 6. Auction sessions will be held Monday, January 9, 2023 through Sunday, January 15.

The bourse area will open from 12noon-7PM on Thursday, January 12 for the Professional Preview/Early Bird Day. For a $125 registration fee, payable on site.
